DENSO recognizes associates for "Warm Hearts"
Date: 2000-02-15

Donating a kidney to a brother and giving steadfast support to a friend earned top honors at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc.'s 10th annual Warm Hearts Awards Ceremony.

On Feb. 14, DENSO Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Stan Tooley presented associates Lisa Burns and David Bentz each with a $100 check to donate to the charity of their choice.

Burns was selected as a recipient because of the support she gave to a friend, another DENSO associate, who was experiencing medical complications during the time of a lost loved one.

Bentz received the award because of his bravery and willingness to donate a kidney to his brother, who had a failing kidney.

The Warm Hearts Awards Ceremony recognizes DENSO associates' commitment to volunteering in their community and among family and friends. Fourteen associates were recognized at this year's ceremony. Peers and co-workers nominate associates, and the two associates who have the most significant volunteer contributions are awarded $100 checks to the non-profit organizations of their choice.

Other associates nominated for the award and for their volunteering efforts were Florence King, Lorraine Thompson, Fran O'Neil, Larry O'Neil, Dave Ball, Gwen Wolfis, Bob Miller, Rod Sutherland, Alan Schneider, Lynne Denney, Dennis Kodobocz, John VanderVoort, Lisa Krejcik and the Quality Assurance Department.

DENSO Manufacturing Michigan Inc, a leading automotive supplier of advanced heating and cooling systems, employs approximately 2,000 associates in Battle Creek.
