DMMI Awarded Governor's Council Healthy Workplace

DENSO Manufacturing of Michigan in Battle Creek received a Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports Gold Healthy Workplace Award on Monday, October 21, at the Lansing Center in Lansing. The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports bestows the Healthy Workplace Award on businesses with outstanding health and wellness programs. Businesses are recognized for initiating new programs and for long-term commitments to wellness activities. Businesses receiving this award have shown outstanding commitment to the health of their employees by establishing creative worksite health promotion programs with demonstrated success. The Gold Award recognizes workplaces that have sustained comprehensive programs in physical fitness, health and sports. Gold Award recipients must score at least 30 points from several wellness categories, have had programs in place for at least two years, provide incentive to employees to participate in wellness activities and have had at least 20 percent of all employees participate in at least two wellness activities during the past year. DMMI has worked hard to promote a healthy workplace. Retirees, interns, co-ops and associates of DMMI and their families are all encouraged to utilize the on-site 4,200 sq. ft. Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center. DMMI also offers sponsorship to associates external athletic teams, free on-site physicals, supports numerous community activities promoting good health and fitness and actively promotes healthy living issues and events to associates.
