DENSO Welcomes New President

BATTLE CREEK--Takeshi (Jim) Tsuboi, President of DENSO Manufacturing Michigan Inc., will be returning to Japan on April 4, 2003 to continue his career in the Thermal Systems Division at DENSO Japan. Upon Mr. Tsuboi’s departure from DMMI, Akio (Alex) Shikamura will assume the presidency.

As DMMI president since 1998, Tsuboi has overseen unprecedented growth and record sales, as well as many capital improvements throughout the facility. Tsuboi strongly emphasized the importance of associate development and supported the creation of DMMI’s Basic Skills Training program, as well as the creation of the Career Development Center and DMMI Skills Training Facility. DMMI also received a number of awards for quality, service and citizenship during his tenure. Under his leadership, DMMI has continued to be a dynamic, competitive company that strives to exceed customer expectations and make a positive contribution to the community.

Alex Shikamura joined DENSO in 1977 and is currently General Manager of Air-Conditioning Engineering Department 1 at headquarters in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Throughout the years, he has worked in various capacities in the Air Conditioning Engineering area, in both Research & Development and Design. Shikamura also spent four years with the Production & Sales Group at DENSO Sales California, from 1992-1996.
