DMMI Does Its Part for the Environment

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 29, 2008 DENSO Associates "Do Their Part" to Reduce Greenhouse Gases

Battle Creek, MI - DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. (DMMI), along with 36 other companies across the U.S., was recently invited by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to participate in a pilot program entitled Do Your Part. The program is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at a household level. If successful, it will be rolled out to thousands of companies nationwide.

Households are responsible for 40% of all greenhouse gas emissions. DMMI has been given the opportunity to help employees reduce their family's carbon footprint - and lower their energy bills at the same time. Do Your Part is an online program that lets participants calculate, monitor, and track their progress at reducing their carbon footprint.

The company has set a 10% goal for employee participation and carbon reduction for 2008. So far, 64 families have signed up for the program from DMMI.

DMMI has a long history of being environmentally responsive within the community. It has received many national and local awards for its efforts, including the EPA's Performance Track and SmartWay Transportation Partnership. DMMI has also been a member of the State of Michigan's Clean Corporate Citizen program since 1998, and the Business Pollution Prevention Partnership since 1998
