DENSO awards associates' community service
Date: 1999-02-11 Girl Scout/Brownie mentoring, and card ministry and volunteer landscaping earn top honors at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Incorporated’s ninth annual Warm Hearts Awards.
On February 12, 1999, DENSO president, Jim Tsuboi, will present associates Gloria Rolfe and Rosemary Keagle with $100 to donate to non-profit organization of their choice.
Gloria earns the award for her card ministry work and providing yard work in the community with church volunteers. Rosemary is a chosen recipient because of her time spent in organizing and facilitating a company-based Girl Scout/Brownie Troop in the Athens area.
The Warm Hearts Awards is a recognition of associates’ volunteer work in the southwest Michigan area. These volunteers are nominated by their peers and the two associates who have the greatest community impact are awarded with a $100 contribution to the non-profit organization of their choice.
President Tsuboi feels associates who volunteer in community should be recognized by the company. “They embody the DENSO spirit of trustworthiness, cooperation and contribution to a better world by helping those close to home.”
Other volunteers nominated for the award were Bob Mathahs, Bob Russell, Dave Bentz, Dave Niedzwiecki, Florence King, Fran O'Neil, Harry Robinson, the Heater Assembly Line 1, 2nd shift team, Joe Wheeler, Judy Ashley, Kelly Lentz, Lorraine Thompson, Nancy Rouse, Nick Richards, the Plant Engineering department, Robert Kaarlie, Robert Zalewski and Ron Carter.
