Purchasing
Philosophy/Role
DMMI
strives to provide optimum purchased value, quality and performance
in our product lines. To meet our objectives, we select suppliers
with demonstrated persistence and commitment to excellence.
The Purchasing
Department plays a vital role in sustaining the competitiveness,
profitability and growth of DMMI.
As appointed
agents of the company, we are responsible for procuring required
goods and services to support operations. Purchased raw materials
and parts may be received and managed on an hourly basis.
Our machinery and equipment undergo aggressive maintenance
schedules and preventive programs. Quality parts and
services must be available for the support of these programs.
We uphold
fair, consistent and ethical purchasing practices. Our procurement
policy supports the formation of long-term relationships,
seeking the ultimate objectives of mutual trust, mutual respect
and mutual benefit.

Expectations
Suppliers'
efforts to consistently meet or exceed our requirements are
recognized with increased business opportunities.
We seek
suppliers who share our philosophy of continuous improvement.
We require constant re-evaluation of products and processes
to achieve technological advantages, quality enhancements
and cost reduction. We thoroughly investigate problems to
determine exact causes and develop countermeasures to prevent
their recurrence, and we expect suppliers to do the same.
DMMI
operates in an environment of minimal inventories and flexible
manufacturing. Successful suppliers operate in a
similar manner and can react quickly.
Overall,
we must purchase value. Quality, service,
delivery, price, location and aggressive technologies compatible
with the environment are only a few components of the value
we seek. We look to the leaders in manufacturing, distribution
and service for our needs.
